The character models, animations, and graphics are all super faithful and amazing for the characters and story. The combat is great.

I am playing the story on Hard and there is a decent challenge, playable characters have awesome upgrades and attacks. Highly recommend for Fairy Tail fans.

Even besides that, it is a solid game and one of the better anime licensed games to have come out in recent years. First and foremost the selling price doesn't quite worth for the game's content.

Music is bad, battles and missions are repetitive and can feel that the production team didn't put much effort in developing this game since there's drop of fps even when the graphic is not nice, plus lots of time the game only shows characters talking to the wall since they don't even bother to make models for other side characters.

I've read the manga watched the anime bought it as well. However, no matter how much I like the series this game was a giant middle finger to the consumers.

So, let's start with what it actually got right -The RPG combat, surprisingly works really well and feels good although extremely easy at times -The abilities are pretty good looking for the most part and feels rewarding.

Now sadly, we move on to the negatives yeah not many positives here -The story It legit just the time skip for the 7 years.

She will have dialog and fully voiced however you never see her due to her not having a model in the game. In certain cases they will just show a still image of the anime scene as a place holder when people are talking and have no model, or there is scenes where everything is voice acted except for 1 person who wont have a model and is just dialog, even though they are a major character.

However, the team later goes the extra mile and incorporates critical decision-making into some of these memories. Sometimes Tyler and Alyson will remember events differently.

It's up to the player to decide on which is the "true" memory. They can take into account a sibling's emotional state, clouded feelings, or biases before making their decision or they can operate based on their gut feeling.

However, players must take into account that whatever memory they decide on will work towards influencing the twins' relationship near the end of the game.

It's a genius idea with my only complaint being that I don't often notice many long-term consequences from these choices.

In one case, specifically, a choice I made irked the other sibling, but it was simply water under the bridge by the next scene. Tell Me Why also features a series of puzzles that brilliantly plays on the twins' childhood.

As kids, Tyler and Alyson made up their own series of make-believe fairy tales, even going so far as to keep a book of stories that they wrote themselves.

These fairy tales are a major plot point and it's not just because they wrote the characters to be analogues of real people in their lives.

Many puzzle solutions are based on those fairy tales and players must pay close attention in order to figure them out. It's more than just a cool concept.

Some of the fairy tales are brilliantly written and contain Aesop-style morals and twists. If there's a criticism here, it's that some of the puzzles can get tough and the hints are not helpful.

Fortunately, more than one puzzle offers a "smashy-smashy" solution for the impatient. The other key component of using twin protagonists is that it heavily reduces the adventure game trope of the main character talking to themselves.

A vast majority of the time that you interact with an item or examine a clue, one sibling is speaking with the other. It feels much more like a natural conversation and comes across as a lot more real.

To add further to this, Tell Me Why operates heavily on a reply mechanic. Most times when somebody talks to Tyler or Alyson, players will have the option to hit a button to reply directly to them or you can stay silent and leave them hanging.

If nothing else, this is a fresh change from the dialogue interface one normally finds in these types of games. There's one other thing that stands out about Tell Me Why above everything else.

Without revealing specific spoilers, the idea of conflicting memories becomes a bigger plot point as the story moves forward. In fact, the story eventually reaches a point where it's worth asking whether memories are trustworthy.

How much would you reliably remember about events from ten years ago? Can you trust your own memories? And is it ultimately better to side with your memories or is the truth something deeper?

Those are the questions the game poses and they're ones worth thinking about. Tell Me Why stands out as one of Dontnod Entertainment's best efforts to date, which is high praise given their output to this point.

It's a brilliant story about twins coming to terms with childhood trauma while exploring the mysteries of how they came to be where they are.

The characters are memorable and the dialogue is some of the best to come out of a Dontnod game yet. I've read the manga watched the anime bought it as well.

Wasteland 3. Fury Unleashed. Some are simply their face value. Some cards are only worth points if another card is in your tableau - points that are multiplied the more of that other card you get.

Some cards are exponential like the green cards in "7 Wonders" or the dumplings of "Sushi Go". Some cards give you points if you have the most of X or if you have "one of this, one of that".

As players place cards in front of themselves, everyone begins to see what their opponents strategies are and you may choose to withhold a card simply to prevent another player from getting it.

There are also cards that directly force opponents to flip over their cards, losing them points, so there's a bit more in the way of player interaction - which "Sushi Go" doesn't have at all, unless you count withholding cards.

Also unlike both "7 Wonders" and "Sushi Go", you don't play your cards as you go. This is perhaps the most significant twist.

Players end up with 5 cards in their hand but may only play 3 of them. This gives you a little flexibility in your strategy.

Maybe you'll hold onto a card in case the card it tag-teams with comes up in the drafting and if it doesn't, well, it'll just be one of the two cards you don't play.

Or perhaps after the first cards are played, you may need to change your strategy because an opponent blocked your card.

This level of tactics, while mild compared to other games out there, is more apparent with more players, where in a 2-player game it may not happen as much; there are only 2 sets of 5 cards going around, so it's easy to know which cards your opponent has and then guess what they might play.

The cards are standard sized and have a slight linen texture to them. The glossy box has a 2-stack plastic insert and the instructions are fairly straight forward.

It includes a "basic" way of playing the game that removes a bunch of cards and most of the player interaction and a lot of the flavor, in my opinion - playing with ALL the cards is called "Expert" but to me "Expert" simply feels like more of a complete game.

It also has instructions for playing in teams, which I have not tried. Teaching "Fairy Tale" is much simpler than "7 Wonders" and after a hand or two, it's easy to see what you're trying to do whereas with 7W first time players generally have NO idea what they are doing until their second game.

I'd rate it slightly more involved than "Sushi Go". Play time is MUCH faster than "7 Wonders" and a tad longer than "Sushi Go", if only because you aren't playing your cards as you draft them.

Overall, "Fairy Tale" is a decent warm-up game. Being a simple deck of cards, it is compact, doesn't take up too much space, and plays quickly.

While I don't quite feel like I'm accomplishing anything like I do in "7 Wonders" in regards to building your wonder up , there's a lot more depth and interest than with "Sushi Go".

It's a solid enough game in these regards, I wouldn't make "Fairy Tale" the centerpiece of a game day. The depth it does have simply leaves me wishing there was more to it, or that there was one more round or some other way to build to a final coup de grace but those things are simply not there.

But as filler games go, it's an excellent one that will easily out last the more novel fare out there. Top critical review. Reviewed in the United States on June 7, It is the game of war with cards, flip, highest total wins, but with some chrome added.

According to the other reviews, folks are more commonly calling this "a card drafting game," but the version of the game I have says "war" on the back panel.

Best to take it up with the publisher, not the reviewers that use the same words the authors do. Various cards have the ability to flip activate or deactivate other cards.

Then, there are effects for and against various fairytale factions that the cards are assigned to. It was a little more complex than I expected based on the theme, and it took me four times through practice games before I got the hang of the rules.

Sort by: Newest Oldest. Fair Tale is an intriguing card drafting game that you play over the course of rounds, building up a tableau of 12 cards.

It's not unlike 7 Wonders, but without the boards and the well integrated theme. The drafting alternates clockwise and anti-clockwise each turn and you have to really pay attention to what your opponents are feeding you in the draft and what you are going to give your neighbor.

You see, the card interact with each other in a way that can really skyrocket your or your opponent's! It's relatively quick 15 minutes or so and it's easy to teach.

It has a couple of significant cons, though. For one, some of the numbers and text on the cards are a real pain to read.

There are also tiny "sub-images" that are supposed to tell you which cards are related to one another, but even some of my sharpest eyed friends have trouble distinguishing some of the images because of the color palette is smeared across yellow, greens, and reds.

This rather funny story is set in the Ozarks where a hillbilly family sends Spieie Affe son into town to buy a new card.
